#CoronaChronicles: Week 17

The countdown is on until we reopen our first visitor centre to the public!

Thank you so much to everyone for your fantastic response to our announcement last week. The news has even been covered in the local press and we’ve been interviewed on BBC Radio Norfolk!

If you missed it, we are planning to reopen the doors to Redwings Caldecott, near Great Yarmouth, on Saturday 25^th July and Redwings Aylsham, north of Norwich, on Saturday 8^th August.

To ensure your safety and that of our staff, there are some new rules we’re introducing which you’ll need to follow during your visit.

The main one is we’re asking all supporters to book an allotted time slot for their visit to help us prevent over-crowding at the centres. Tickets, either printed or on a mobile device, will need to be presented on the day to gain admittance. Entry remains free but donations would be gratefully received towards the care of our rescued horses and donkeys.

So far, over 200 tickets have been booked for Redwings Caldecott, while just under 100 tickets have been confirmed for Redwings Aylsham. Thank you so much for your support and, if you haven’t already, please make sure to book your tickets soon to avoid disappointment!

As we wish to trial these measures on a small-scale to start, we do not at the moment have reopening dates for our other visitor centres; Redwings Ada Cole in Essex, Redwings Oxhill in Warwickshire and Redwings Mountains in Angus, Scotland.

We’re sorry if this causes any disappointment, but please keep an eye on our social media channels for further updates as and when we can bring them to you.

In other news, this week saw some of our admin staff, who had been working from home throughout the lockdown, return to the office on a rota basis. As you can see, some of them had some catching-up to do with their desk calendars!

To ensure everyone can adhere to the latest social distance guidelines, staff are returning on ocassional days and will continue to split their time between working at home and being in the office for the foreseeable future.

This means that, while more people are now on deck to help answer our phone lines, we would continue to urge anyone wishing to make an enquiry, place an order through our online gift shop, purchase an adoption or report a welfare concern, to continue to do so via our website so we can respond to your request as quickly as possible.
