We believe that every horse, pony, donkey and mule has the right to a happy and healthy life, free of fear and neglect.

With the generosity and support of you, our fantastic supporters we are able to rescue abandoned, mistreated and neglected horses and donkeys from across the UK and give them a safe place to live and providing essential veterinary treatment, rehabilitation and lifelong care.

Redwings is one of the largest horse keepers in the UK with over 1,500 horses and ponies in its care and 40 years’ experience of rescuing equines who have suffered neglect or cruelty.

Redwings SWHP

SWHP was first founded over 40 years ago as ‘The Society for the Humane Disposal of Horses and Ponies’, originally by Sheila Richards.

On 1st February 2019, Redwings merged with the Society for the Welfare of Horses and Ponies (SWHP).
