Find out how to keep your horse fighting fit, rather than fighting fat, during an evening of free veterinary talks hosted by Redwings.
Places can be booked now for the charity’s latest seminar, called Lightening the Load!, taking place at our Aylsham visitor centre, north of Norwich, on Tuesday 2nd April from 6.30pm.
During the event, Senior Veterinary Surgeon Nicky Jarvis will be on hand to share her top practical tips on assessing your horse’s weight, how to help your four-legged friend lose those extra pounds safely and the best ways to balance a horse’s mental and physical wellbeing while keeping them trim.
Attendees will also take away free weight management resources to help put these techniques into practice at home.
Andie Vilela, Education and Campaigns Manager, said: "Obesity is one of the biggest problems facing horses right now, with 50% to 70% of all horses being overweight in the UK. Excess fat is much more than just extra luggage; it can lead to serious health problems, so it’s important that horse owners have the knowledge to become effective fat fighters.
“If you’re not sure if your horse is a healthy weight or you’ve simply given up trying to diet your good-doer, then don’t miss this friendly seminar, which will be packed full of the latest advice and practical demonstrations to give you the confidence and inspiration you need to help your horse stay fighting fit.”
To book your free place on the evening seminar, call 01508 481055 or email education@redwings.co.uk.
