A woman from York has raised over £700 for Redwings in memory of her sister, Caroline Swift (pictured), who passed away when they were children.
Victoria Harrison got a group of four friends together to do the Yorkshire Warrior in aid of Redwings.
Victoria said: “My sister was passionate about Redwings. She had a horse called Amy and wanted to be an equine vet.
“She tragically passed away in 1992, when she was just 13 years old.
“My sister’s school raised money for the charity afterwards, our mum was a teacher there, and some of them visited one of the Redwings centres.
“I still have the letter from Redwings thanking them for the donation and was thrilled to hear that they still have Caroline’s memorial plaque, which I’d never seen, and I am now planning to visit Redwings Caldecott with my dad to see it for myself.
“I’ve always wanted to do raise money for Redwings in Caroline’s memory and now felt like the right time.”
Victoria added: “I did the 10k version of the Warrior and it was so tough! My friends did the 20k and I don’t know how they managed it!
“I’m going to be doing some more fundraising soon.”
We're so grateful for your support in your sister's memory, Victoria.
