Support Redwings from your sofa!

While most Covid restrictions have now lifted, if you're still looking for some inspiration for how you can help Redwings without leaving the house, then look no further! We've put together this list of how you can help our rescued horses, ponies and mules from the comfort of your sofa!

Make a new friend

Why not make a new four-legged friend? You can adopt one of our Adoption Stars right here on our website. From dashing donkey duo Wiggins and Wacko, to super-cute Shetland pony Sampson and lovely Lady, our young Shire horse, you're sure to find the perfect friend for you or a loved one.

A year’s adoption costs from just £15 and your donation will help us to care for your Adoption Star and their friends at the Sanctuary. As well as receiving postal updates, you’ll also be able to keep up-to-date with their lives at Redwings through their online diaries! Plus, if you can, you’ll be able to pay them a visit in person at one of our visitor centres.

Hold a birthday fundraiser

If you have a birthday coming up, how about asking friends and family to donate to Redwings instead of birthday gifts? Nothing beats the feeling of knowing that your birthday kindness is helping us transform the lives of our rescued residents.

Did you know £250 could pay to care for a rescued horse or donkey for a whole month?! What an amazing way to celebrate on your big day!

Enjoy some #HoovesOfHappiness

If you follow Redwings on social media you will be treated to a daily dose of horsey happiness! We’re sharing photos and videos of our rescued residents, as well as those who have been rehomed and are enjoying new lives in their Guardian homes. You can also share these posts to your own social media to help us spread some #HoovesOfHappiness and let others know about the work that Redwings does. Draw, paint or create

Redwings will gratefully receive any masterpieces you may have been creating at home. So, if you’ve been painting, drawing or crafting and would like to donate your work to Redwings so that we can use it to raise funds for the charity, please contact fundraising@redwings.co.uk.

Just £39, made from the sales of donated art, could pay for one of our Field Officers to respond to a call made to our welfare line, the first step to helping horses in need.

Time for a spring clean?

Having a sort out at home and donating your unwanted items to Redwings is a great way to support us and raise funds towards the care of all our rescued horses and donkeys. Please contact preloved@redwings.co.uk if you have any goodies you'd like to donate!

If you're a horse owners, we'd be particularly grateful to receive donations of clean, good quality tack and rugs. What we can’t use in the care of our rescued residents will be sold to raise vital funds. So, if you have tack donations, please also email preloved@redwings.co.uk and let us know.

Take the Stamp Out Strangles Pledge

If you’re a horse owner, or involved in the care of horses, then you could show your support to Redwings by adding your voice to our Stamp Out Strangles campaign. By taking our Stamp Out Strangles Pledge you'll be showing your commitment towards proactively protecting your horse from infectious disease. It only takes a couple of minutes and you can help us end the stigma surrounding this horrible disease.

Treat yourself!

Head over to our online shop and treat yourself to a little pick-me-up, knowing that your purchase is helping us care for our horses, ponies, donkeys and mules. That is double the pick-me-up power! You can visit our shop here.

Just £10 will enable us to fill a stable in our Horse Hospital full of comfy bedding for our horse or donkey patients.
