This Sunday, two supporters will be running the London Marathon for Redwings. We believe it’s the first time anyone will have completed the special event on our behalf!
Steph and Stephen will be taking on the world-famous 26.2 mile race to raise money for our rescued horses, ponies and donkeys - and we want to wish them lots of luck for the race, and help with a final push for their fundraising.
Between them they have already raised over £1000 for Redwings, and we are so proud of them!
In late March, both of our runners took part in a local 20 mile race - a big step in their marathon training Despite a cold (Stephen) and a sore knee (Steph) our tenacious runners finished the race, and they were even able to meet-up at the start line (pictured top).
Steph said: "It was also great to catch-up with Stephen on the start line and see how his training is going. Marathon training, what with its many long runs, can be a lonely ordeal (I don’t say that lightly!) so it’s nice to know of others in the same boat and cheer each other along."
With this race under their belts the pair entered the final weeks of their training, and now there is nothing more to do than go out on Sunday and smash it!
Wishing them both the very best of luck - go on Steph and Stephen, you really are #RedwingsAngels
