Cookie's spots are leaving the spotlight

Please join us in wishing a happy retirement to Cookie whose spots are now leaving the spotlight! Thank you, Cookie, for being such a star and an amazing addition to the Redwings Adoption Scheme!

Cookie has been an Adoption Star since 2018, after being rescued from the horrendous conditions of Spindle Farm in Amersham in 2008, along with 55 equines. Fortunately, Cookie overcame his ordeal and, thanks to his beautiful Appaloosa spotted coat and cheeky inquisitive nature, became a beloved and cherished part of the scheme.

Cookie is now 25 years old, and despite being in good health for his age, it has been necessary to adjust his diet to accommodate his ageing teeth and he now requires permanent medication for Cushing's disease, a common condition affecting the pituitary gland in older equines.

Cookie now prefers a slower pace of life and, with this in mind, we feel it’s the right time to retire this handsome chap from the limelight.

Being retired means Cookie will no longer be available for new adopters to sponsor but will be continuing to keep in touch with his existing adopters, plus he will remain living at Redwings Aylsham in Norfolk where you can visit him for free.
