Help us celebrate our new arrivals at Redwings Aylsham!

There are now even more lovable horses, ponies and donkeys to visit at Redwings Aylsham!

The visitor centre, north of Norwich, is now home to 75 rescued residents due to the arrival of four adorable ponies this summer. And with the start of our special ‘We Love Ponies’ weekends, there’s no better time to meet our new arrivals!

Gaelia and Brina (pictured above) are the best of friends! Pretty Welsh cross Brina originally came to Redwings in 2006 when her owner was sadly unable to give her the care she needed due to ill-health. She also required veterinary treatment for an infection in her lower jaw, which her owner was unable to afford.

At Redwings, Brina underwent an operation on her jaw and was successfully rehomed in 2008 as part of our Guardianship Scheme where she met Shetland pony Gaelia. The pair struck up a close bond, so when Brina returned to the Sanctuary in 2015, Gaelia came along too!

Joining this cheeky duo are Exmoor cross Twiglet and Native cross Bounty, who both came to Redwings in 2005 from a smaller sanctuary in Cornwall who asked for assistance in caring for ponies needing ongoing veterinary care or specialist handling training.

While Twiglet and Bounty are still quite timid, they’re enjoying getting to know Brina, Gaelia and all of their new field-mates, including Adoption Star Cookie and his girlfriend Coral.

Our fun 'We Love Ponies' activities will run at all of our visitor centres until Monday 3^rd September, celebrating all the things we love about our teeniest residents. Enjoy fascinating talks and tours, special meets ‘n’ greets, and even have a go at pony grooming!

All of our visitor centres are open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday (closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays), 10am to 4pm. Entry is free and dogs on leads are welcome.
