Paintings for paddocks

From Friday 29^th April, our Aylsham Visitor Centre will be opening its doors again to art enthusiasts to peruse and buy pieces from our collection of donated artwork.

From reproduction prints of well-known paintings and classically framed works depicting traditional countryside scenes, to modern colourful pieces by amateurs and professionals alike, there’s something for everyone.

There will also be a wonderful collection of sketches, watercolours and acrylics created by our supporters for Redwings, including a beautiful portrait of one of the charity’s Adoption Stars, rare-breed Poitou donkey Arya.

Prices of artwork will range from £5 to £120, so there will also be something to suit every budget, plus every penny raised from the art sale will go directly towards the care of our horses and donkeys. Indeed, while attending the art sale, visitors will be able to find out more about our work as well as meet our residents in person.

Last year’s sale helped raise over £1,200 – that’s the equivalent of 40 paddocks being re-seeded with grass, 120 stables being supplied with comfy bedding and 24 veterinary health checks – so we’re hoping to raise as much as possible at this year’s event to continue vital development work and the building of more paddocks to increase our capacity to rescue more horses in need.

If you’re a budding artist or if you have any unwanted paintings, sculptures or textiles tucked away, we welcome further donations of artwork to exhibit and sell at the event. Redwings Aylsham’s art sale takes place on Friday 29^th April to Monday 2^nd May and on the following weekend Friday 6^th to Monday 9^th May, 10am to 4pm. Entry is free of charge.
