Animal-lover Isabel Wright was so inspired by the Shetland ponies she met during a visit to Redwings Oxhill in Warwickshire that she wanted to do something to help raise funds for the Sanctuary. After discussing it with her dad, Richard, they came up with the amazing idea to walk around the Shetland Islands!
The isle itself is quite long so they decided to walk in circular routes on parts of the island as this would make the walks more scenic and also enable them to hopefully spot some of the resident Shetland ponies that inhabit the island too!
With the help of their good friend David, who was designated van driver as well as a fellow walker, Izzy and her dad walked 10 miles a day for 10 consecutive days and completed their amazing fundraising challenge on Izzy’s 11th birthday! What an achievement!
Richard kept us up to date on social media with daily updates and Izzy kept going and never gave up even though it must have been a real challenge at times!
Izzy's incredible fundraising adventure has raised over £2000 for the Sanctuary and we’re so proud of her! Thank you so much Izzy (and Richard and David too!)
