You've GOAT to be kidding!

If you’ve recently paid a visit to Redwings Ada Cole you may have noticed two very unusual additions to our horsey family.

No, your eyes did not deceive you. Say hello to goats, Frappe and Latte!

While we’re NOT expanding our rescue and care work beyond horses, ponies, donkeys and mules, this adorable duo are here to help us with a very important job.

At the Ada Cole Visitor Centre, we have a paddock which is not suitable for horses because of its proximity to sycamore trees, whose seeds have the potential to poison horses if eaten.

Goats have a much stronger digestive system and so can happily graze there without the risk of falling ill. This means we can make use of this lovely paddock… and Frappe (who is light brown) and Latte (who is the brown and white one) can help us keep the grass down!

Goats are very intelligent and curious. They love to explore new environments, objects and people so we’re sure these super-cute additions to our family will take no time in introducing themselves to visitors.

Redwings Ada Cole, near Harlow, Essex, is open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 10am to 4pm, all year round (closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays).
