Redwings supporter Paul recently competed in the World Indoor Pairs Championship at Hopton-on-Sea in Norfolk and again in the singles at the International Open in Blackpool in March. Competitors are allowed to wear badges on their shirts featuring their sponsors’ logos, but rather than gain a sponsor, Paul asked if he could wear a Redwings logo to help raise awareness of the charity.
Paul said: “I am married to Helen and live in Aylesbury where I work as manager at Foxhill Indoor Bowls Club. I offered to wear a Redwings badge after visiting Redwings Oxhill near Stratford-upon-Avon and seeing how well looked after the horses are. I have been playing bowls for 25 years, and have had two trials for England. I have beaten a number of world champions at singles and team events and am currently ranked number one on the Open Singles Circuit.”
Many of the competitions Paul enters are televised or filmed for YouTube making this a truly amazing way to spread the Redwings word to thousands of people. Paul also travels to around 20 clubs across the UK so fellow competitors and spectators will have the chance to see his super badges
We really are bowled over by Paul’s support. We wish him the best of good luck in all his competitions!
